Trebuchet MS is a humanistic grotesque developed by Vincent Connar in 1996 for Microsoft. The name of the font was born when Vincent heard a task for new employees at Microsoft headquarters: “Is it possible to create a trebuchet that can send a person from the main campus to the new one, a mile away? From the point of view of mathematics, is it possible, and how?” – “I think this is a great name for a font that will send words over the Internet.”
Trebuchet MS was used in window headers in Windows XP, instead of the previously used MS Sans Serif font. It was included in the Core fonts for the Web package, thanks to which it was often used as the main font of web pages.
