Ailerons is a gorgeous narrow font that reads great even from bad screens. Most often I use it in mobile applications and those interfaces where it is important to fit a lot of information in the width of the screen and preferably not at the expense of the distance between the text blocks. Slightly inflated waist at the capital gives them a twist. While the upper register refers to the “American” style and the old grotesque of the 19th century, the lower case clearly gravitate to Renaissance forms. Ailerons is a font with clean contours and a uniform, “silver” set, but not boring. It has a touch of flirtatiousness and friendliness. Nevertheless, for simple shapes lurk sometimes opposite traits. So, the font is sometimes strict, sometimes playful; sometimes slow, sometimes dynamic; can be hard, can be elegant; sharp and a little vintage.
